Producer

Jim Baugh has been a composer for over 50 years and is a degreed musician with a BM in Electronic Music and a minor in piano. He has been a television producer for over 38 years with his own television studio producing a variety of television series and specials including award winning Jim Baugh Outdoors TV, RV Times, Ski East, Fishing Virginia and the Bassmasters Classic Richmond VA Specials.

In 2013  Jim moved his studios form the Richmond & Hampton Virginia area to the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Since then, Jim has set up a new studio in Virginia Beach Virginia in January 2021. Jim has his 3d recurrent  FAA part 107 certification for Remote Pilot Aircraft. Mermaid Bay AIR is now a division of  Mermaid Bay Productions LLC and produces television shows, tourism films, real estate video projects and many films featuring aerial video.​ 

 

Jim also produces short films one of which is a new astrophotography feature on the Milky Way which debut in June of 2019 at the Experimental Virginia Film Festival. The film has played in over 15 film festivals from coast to coast and so far has garnished 4 awards in cinamatography, music, and editing.

In 2022 Jim Contracted with Solid Structures to to produce construction videos in the greater Virginia Beach area. As content producer Jim produced how to video's, seminar presintations, award winning still photography for magazines as well as lifestyle video testimonials.  The company has grown greatly since the implementation of Jims content production and he built out the You Tube channel for the company that is a growing success to this day. Jim was awarded "Social Media Star" nationally as well as several natonal Product of the month  awards.

Jim Baugh’s first published book, “HOOKED” was released by Solstice Publishing world wide late June of 2011. The book instantly won critical acclaim earning all five-star ratings and was featured book of the month by the publisher during the first month’s release. HOOKED reached best seller status on Amazon in April 2012. Jim finished the sequel to HOOKED, “AFTERMATH” which was published and released by Solstice Publishing late September 2014.

Jim wrote the screenplay HOOKED which was based on both books and placed top 100 screenplays for the year in the International Screenplay Association world wide competition held in Los Angles.

Award Winning Degreed Musician / Composer

Jim Baugh is an award winning composer and musician with a degree in applied Synthesizer / Audio Engineering with a minor in Piano and has written, performed, and engineered all the soundtracks for JBOTV and also has leased his music to other production companies. In 2018 Jim finished his first piano concerto “Underwater Improv” a 3 movement, 30 minute piece of music set to all underwater dive film of the Palancar Reefs and Tunnels, Baja, and Hatteras NC. The 3d movement was feature on One World Radio in the UK.  

In April of 2019 Jim completed the new soundtrack for his short film, “The Milky Way Galaxy, Our Home” which debut at the Experimental Virginia Film Festival in June of 2019. The film went on to play at other festivals and won an award of merit for music at the 2019 Southern Shorts Film Festival in Georga. The film was showcased at the Ocean City Film Festival in March of 2020, then went on to play in over 15 film festivals world wide.

In December of 2019 Jim released his first Piano Collections Vol 1 DVD with all the music set to film. Locations included Baja, Cozumel, Hatteras, and the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The DVD includes the award winning soundtrack from the Milky Way Galaxy Our Home Short Film. The DVD is also available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Jim Baugh's compositions "Eventide" and "Nightscapes" has been selected for music festivals world wide and was selected Semi-Finalist in the California Music Video and Film Awards 2026. Jim is considered one of the top contemporary pianest and soundtrack composers working today.

Jim Baughs work has been seen on NBC Universal, NBC Sports, The History Channel, National Geographic, The Family Channel, The Outdoor Channel, The Sportsman Channel, Fox Sports, HTS, Sports South, America One, and many broadcast affiliates throughout the Mid-Atlantic and South East.
